Enrollment not progressing beyond "initialized" status

I'm attempting to test the API using the Dropbox-android-sample code. I have installed the app on my phone and it works up to the point where I click the "Finish Enrollment" button. I can see that the enrollment.wav file was created and that the Analysis data was set (all the intervals, stop and start data are populated). In the developer console, I can see that the Enrollment was created using the "Get all Enrollments" call. At that point (in the KnurldService), the app starts polling until the Enrollment is in either completed or failed status. The app just hangs here because the Enrollment never gets beyond the "initialized" status. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
